That is what We Care does. Not the school content. The machinery underneath it.
Structured teaching.One skill at a time.
Every session has a plan: an objective for the day, an activity built to reach it, and a record of what happened.
A child might spend the hour breaking a long assignment into steps and learning to start it without being asked twice. Another might work through a reading passage with support that thins out as the page goes on. Another might rehearse what to say when a group is already playing and there is no obvious way in.
The work is deliberate and it is measured. Families receive a written record after each session — what we worked on, what changed, and what to practice during the week.

We Care is not a new company that borrowed a familiar name. It is the second arm of Flame, built on ten years of one-on-one teaching — the same method pointed at a different subject.
Flame Arts teaches music. The instrument is the method; the musician is the point.
We Care teaches the skills underneath school. The exercise is the method; the student is the point.
Same standard, same format, same long view: one student at a time, online, with a plan before the session and a record after it. What changes is the subject — never the standard.

Within Cognitive Development:
Learning support for neurodivergent students
Ages 6 to 15. Mapping the student’s profile, multisensory reading practice, breaking tasks into steps, compensation strategies, and helping the student understand how their own mind works.
Language, reading and literacy
Ages 5 to 12. Phonological warm-up, guided reading with graduated support, active comprehension, short and frequent writing, and fluency tracked over time.
School readiness and early stimulation
Ages 3 to 6. Language play, playful cognitive stimulation, shared attention and turn-taking, coordination and pre-writing, with structured guidance for parents.
Within Social-Emotional Learning:
Self-regulation and emotional management
An emotion wheel, a body map of feeling, a personal toolbox of regulation strategies, rehearsal of hard situations, and a weekly check-in.
Social skills and relationships
Ages 6 to 14. Reading social context, scripts for joining a group, step-by-step conflict resolution, assertiveness, and keeping a friendship once it starts.
School adaptation and transitions
Ages 4 to 14. Mapping the change, preparing in advance, building a support network, holding identity in a new setting — written for immigrant families — and rituals that close a transition.

We Care is not currently listed in the EMA Marketplace, so there is no direct payment from Step Up to us. Families pay for sessions and submit the cost for reimbursement under their own program.

A detailed invoice, the professional’s résumé and the program curriculum — the documentation a reimbursement request requires.

You file it in your account under PEP or FES-UA, attaching what we sent.
Step Up decides
Approval, eligibility and the amount are determined by Step Up For Students — never by us.
Because we are not a registered provider, the professional’s credentials must be attached to each reimbursement request. We prepare that packet fresh every month so you are never chasing a document. We cannot promise that any individual claim will be approved — that decision belongs to Step Up For Students alone.
Three degrees.One way of seeing a child.
Sessions are delivered by a specialist holding degrees in Psychology, Pedagogy and Language and Literature, with a postgraduate specialization in cognitive behavioral therapy.
Those three degrees are not a coincidence. They are the three questions this work asks. Psychology: how does a mind regulate itself? Pedagogy: how is something actually taught, and how do you know it landed? Language: how is meaning built, and where does it break?
A child who cannot start a task, a child who reads a page without holding any of it, and a child who freezes at the edge of a group are three different problems. Answering all three takes all three.
Sessions are one-on-one, live and online, in English or Portuguese. Families receive a written record of what was worked on and what to practice during the week.

What happens in a session?
A plan, an activity and a record. Each session opens with a specific objective, moves through a structured activity built to reach it, and closes with a note to the family: what we did, what we noticed, and what to practice during the week.
Does my child need a diagnosis to start?
No. The Cognitive Development program serves a student with a documented profile and a student who simply cannot get organized, and the work looks different for each. We never require a report to begin.
Can I use a Step Up For Students scholarship?
Families use PEP and FES-UA funds for this kind of educational support through reimbursement. We are not currently listed in the EMA Marketplace, so Step Up does not pay us directly — you pay us and file the claim yourself. We provide the complete documentation packet with every invoice. Eligibility and approval are decided by Step Up For Students, not by us.
What exactly do I receive for the reimbursement claim?
A detailed invoice showing dates, duration and description of each session, the professional’s résumé, and the curriculum of the program your child is enrolled in. Because we are not a registered provider, those credentials must be attached to each request — so we reissue the packet every month.
How long are the sessions, and how often?
Weekly. Cognitive Development runs 50 minutes; Social-Emotional Learning runs 45. Both are online and live, one-on-one — Social-Emotional Learning is also available in a small group.
How soon will we see a difference?
These are skills, and skills build with repetition. What changes first is usually not the grade — it is the child getting started without a fight, or naming what they feel instead of shutting down. We track progress session by session and show you what we are seeing, including when it is slower than we hoped.
Do you work in English or Portuguese?
Both. Sessions are delivered in the language the family speaks at home, which matters a great deal for the school adaptation and transitions path.
